Daniel Smith Granulating Pigments Assessment Rubric
A rubric, most often used in education, is an assessment tool that can be used to rank according to specific criteria.
Below you will find an assessment of the Daniel Smith granulating pigments that I have been working with in my research. Using the swatches for each granulating color, I gave each a score from 1-5.
5 - Most granulating pigment criteria: 3 D effect, clusters of dark, rivulets, broken color, moon surface effect
4 - Very good granulating pigment criteria: no moon effect, chunks of granulation, colors break, sinking into paper teeth
3 - Good granulating pigment criteria: lots of smooth surface, granulation not first impression
2 - Soft granulating pigment criteria: granulation visible but faint, surface mostly smooth
1 - Insignificant granulating pigment criteria: granulation barely visible, appears smooth unless closely examined
